The Olde Stone Brewing Company
The Olde Stone Brewing Company has been serving up fine, handcrafted ales and delicious, fresh food in downtown Peterborough since 1996.
This year we celebrate our 15th anniversary and if you haven’t yet visited, here’s what you’re missing. You can expect to taste the best-handcrafted ales in Peterborough in over 100 years. Brewmaster, Aaron O’Neill has been with us for the past few years making downtown’s best ales. If your timing is right you can also enjoy a tour of our brewery during your visit with us. Our house ales are sure to please!
Wilde Old Ale, named after Oscar Wilde is full bodied and dark in color. The Red Fife Wheat Ale is the lightest beer we brew, and is named after a strain of wheat developed locally that was widely used in the last century. Also not to be forgotten is our Stout and Bitter ales. Our Dubh Stout, Gaelic for black gold, is creamy with a strong roasted barley flavor. It’s sure to satisfy any stout fan. Pickwick’s Best Bitter is definitely one of the favorites with our regulars and staff. It has a rich coppery hue, with a good balance of hops and malt. You can expect to see seasonal ales such as Pumpkin, Belgian Wit, India Pale Ale and the staff favorite "The pursuit of Hoppiness".. There is a cozy spot to warm up in front of the fireplace and our large mahogany bar make for any easy way to pass an afternoon with friends or enjoy a quiet pint. Once summer hits, you can take a seat on our street side patio.
Our menu has a little something for everyone. We use the freshest ingredients available from a variety of local suppliers. Favorites include, Thai Noodles, Fish and chips and The Best Burger. Prices are reasonable ranging from $8.99 to 19.99. The Cheddar Ale Soup is a crowd pleaser and our specials are a daily inspiration.
Although small in size compared to some pubs, the Olde Stone attracts a loyal and diverse group of regulars. To those like Paul Wilson, we say "Olde Stone wouldn’t be the same without you." Thank you all for your continued support. To those we have yet to meet, cheers and we hope to see you soon.
The service is friendly and the wait staff is always happy to see new faces.
